Hello everybody out there..
I'm going to start out on a BIG project, an AMOS clone of Civilization,
here's a few improvements in relation to the original..
- MUCH bigger maps
- More various landtypes (Ideas, please !!)
- More various units (Ideas, please !!)
- More units allowed
- More city improvements (Ideas, please !!)
- Units gets XP's (So that an experienced unit is better than a rookie)
- Possibility to be seveal human players
- Upgrading units (keeping their XP's with new weappons)
- Cities can expand their grounds (Getting VERY big)
- City names can use 'special' characters (, , , , etc.)
I would love to hear about ideas and comments for this project, also I'm
looking for people who'd like to test it as I'm getting along and I'd like
to get in touch with some cool GFX people to draw landtiles and units.
But, as i'm planing to open for 256 various landtiles and 65536 unittypes
(I know sound wild, but planning it is easy), and I'd like to run everything
on a 64 colours EHB screen (making all tiles 64 EHB too) gets me in serious
trouble in relation to chip-ram (using icons/bobs), I've planed to reserve
a work-bank and put 'em there and then transfering the tiles/units with
Doke/Deek (width is 16). I know how that is done (not my first time), but
I was wondering if anyone had a better way of doing this, but it has to use
FAST-ram, (Cblocks is to slow, Icons and blocks uses Chip and loading from
HD is to slow)...
Just wondered, do you think it sounds to much to run on 64 colours screen ??
NB: If any of you've got graphics on stock I'd be very grateful, so I'll
have something to start on, The tile-size for both land and units will
be 16*16 in 64c EHB...

Happy greetings, Yours..
